InBody API Integration

With Terra's InBody API integration, you can integrate with InBody machines and access highly detailed information on your users' body composition & health metrics. The API integration will send you pushes for body fat, BMI, BMR, and even blood pressure information, sent directly to your app

Two ways to receive InBody data

When data is available from an InBody device, Terra sends it straight to your webhook. During your Terra account setup you'll be prompted for a callback URL, and that is where Terra POSTs each payload.

InBody does not notify Terra when data changes, so Terra polls it every 5–10 minutes for each connected user and POSTs the normalized payload to your webhook.

Terra API preserves the raw data from the wearable, it just standardizes the units and the json format. It doesn’t augment or change the raw data in any way.

Data is organized into one of 6 data types.

People Often Ask Us...

How do I access InBody scan results through an API?

Terra's InBody integration reads the InBody cloud that the scanners report into. Once a user is connected, Terra normalizes each scan into its standard Body payload and POSTs it to your webhook, so gym and clinic measurements land in the same shape as consumer scale data.

How quickly does InBody data reach my app?

Terra polls InBody every 5–10 minutes for each connected user, so new data reaches your webhook within that window of a device sync.

What data is available from InBody through Terra?

Through Terra's InBody integration, you can access body data.

Do I need my own InBody API credentials?

Yes. InBody issues web API access per organisation, so you supply your own InBody credentials and Terra uses them on your behalf. You apply through InBody's web API programme.

What does an InBody scan return?

Highly detailed body composition and health metrics — body fat, BMI and BMR, plus blood pressure from the BP and BPBIO devices in the range.

Which InBody machines are supported?

The connected models that report into InBody's cloud, including the BPBIO 220, 250, 320 and 750 blood pressure systems, the BP170, and the BWA body water analyser.
