Biostrap API Integration

With Terra's Biostrap web API integration, you can use the Terra web API to retrieve various essential health metrics & body measurements from your users' biostraps, getting clinically reliable data straight into your app. Expect data such as sleep quality metrics, recovery scores, representing the response to the stress you've put your body through on a given day, and nighttime biometrics like heart rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and snoring

Two ways to receive Biostrap data

When data is available from a Biostrap device, Terra sends it straight to your webhook. During your Terra account setup you'll be prompted for a callback URL, and that is where Terra POSTs each payload.

Biostrap does not notify Terra when data changes, so Terra polls it every 5–10 minutes for each connected user and POSTs the normalized payload to your webhook.

Terra API preserves the raw data from the wearable, it just standardizes the units and the json format. It doesn’t augment or change the raw data in any way.

Data is organized into one of 6 data types.

People Often Ask Us...

How do I access Biostrap data through an API?

Terra's Biostrap integration is a web API integration. Your user connects their Biostrap account through the Terra widget, and Terra normalizes the health metrics and body measurements their devices record into standard payloads delivered to your webhook.

How quickly does Biostrap data reach my app?

Terra polls Biostrap every 5–10 minutes for each connected user, so new data reaches your webhook within that window of a device sync.

What data is available from Biostrap through Terra?

Through Terra's Biostrap integration, you can access activity, body, daily and sleep data.

What does Biostrap measure overnight?

Biostrap's nighttime biometrics cover heart rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate and snoring, alongside sleep quality metrics and the recovery score that summarises how the body responded to the previous day's load.

Do I need Biostrap API credentials?

No. Terra manages the Biostrap API credentials, so there is nothing to register with Biostrap before you connect users.

Which Biostrap devices does the integration cover?

The EVO and Evo Biosensor, Kairos, the Activity Pod, chest strap and armband heart rate monitors, and the Thermo Patch — everything that reports into a user's Biostrap account.
