Wger API Integration

With Terra's Wger web API integration, your app receives the workouts, body measurements and meals users track in Wger, the open-source fitness manager. Terra normalizes each payload, covering exercises and sets, weight and body metrics, and logged nutrition, then POSTs it to your webhook.

Two ways to receive Wger data

When data is available from a Wger device, Terra sends it straight to your webhook. During your Terra account setup you'll be prompted for a callback URL, and that is where Terra POSTs each payload.

Wger does not notify Terra when data changes, so Terra polls it every 5–10 minutes for each connected user and POSTs the normalized payload to your webhook.

Terra API preserves the raw data from the wearable, it just standardizes the units and the json format. It doesn’t augment or change the raw data in any way.

Data is organized into one of 6 data types.

People Often Ask Us...

How do I access wger data through an API?

Your user connects their wger account through the Terra widget, and Terra reads the workouts, body measurements and meals they track in the open-source fitness manager, normalizing each payload for your webhook.

How quickly does Wger data reach my app?

Terra polls Wger every 5–10 minutes for each connected user, so new data reaches your webhook within that window of a device sync.

What data is available from Wger through Terra?

Through Terra's Wger integration, you can access activity, body and nutrition data.

Does the wger integration include strength training detail?

Yes. wger is built around resistance training, so Terra delivers the exercises and sets a user logs, alongside their weight and body metrics and any nutrition they record.

Do I need wger API credentials?

No provider credentials are required. Users authenticate with their own wger login through the Terra widget, including on self-hosted instances.
