Yasin, congratulations on your recent victory in the Terra Steps Referral Challenge! Could you share a bit about your background with us?

"Absolutely! I'm Yasin Khan, pursuing a degree in computing at Imperial College London. I grew up in East London, but my roots trace back to Bangladesh."

While at Imperial, have you joined any clubs or societies?

"Yes, I'm actively involved with the mountaineering society and the Islamic society. I particularly enjoy the mountaineering club for the bouldering perks."

Sounds interesting! What sort of perks do you get for bouldering?

"Well, on Mondays and Fridays, there are some great deals at certain climbing gyms, including reduced fees and shoe rentals. It's a fantastic bargain."

What are your go-to bouldering locations in London?

"I frequent a few, but my top picks are the gyms in Bethnal Green and Mile End. The Mile End gym stands out for its unique climbing routes."

How long have you been into bouldering, and do you plan to incorporate the Apple Watch into your fitness routine?

"I started bouldering just before starting university. As for the Apple Watch, it's my first fitness tracker, so I'm keen to discover how it enhances my climbing experience."

What inspired you to participate in the Terra Athlete Challenge?

"I was introduced to it by a friend. It seemed like an intriguing challenge, and I decided to put my all into it."

What aspect of the Terra Steps Challenge did you find most enjoyable?

"There was this one evening, post an event at Imperial, I embarked on an extensive walk. I strolled all the way from Imperial College to Blackfriars, soaking in sights like Big Ben. It was a serene night-time adventure."

Do you have any specific bouldering goals?

"More than setting definite goals, I focus on continuous improvement. The London Mile End gym is a favourite due to the technical aspects of its climbing routes."

Aside from sports, what other interests do you have?

"I'm quite into video games, especially Zelda. Its open-world adventure format is incredibly captivating."

Are you planning to try out any new sports?

"Actually, I am looking to improve my swimming skills. A friend has offered to teach me, which I'm really excited about."

What key takeaways did you get from participating in the Terra Steps Challenge?

"The challenge was an eye-opener regarding the significance of steps and the time they symbolise. Walking more has enriched my life with time for podcasts and introspection, which I find invaluable."

Will you maintain this increased walking routine beyond the challenge?

"Definitely. The challenge has been instrumental in showing how I can balance walking with other vital activities in my life."

Thank you, Yasin, for sharing a little bit about you with us. Best of luck with your bouldering and future endeavours!
