About
KJ Dhaliwal is the co-founder and CEO of Lotus Health AI, also known as Lotus AI. He started the company in 2024 with Zekka Nelson. Lotus pairs an AI doctor with licensed clinicians who can diagnose, prescribe, order labs and make referrals. The care is free and available around the clock, and the company aims it at the roughly 100 million Americans who have no regular primary care doctor. In February 2026 Lotus announced a $35 million Series A from Kleiner Perkins and CRV, which brought its total funding to $41 million.
Before Lotus, Dhaliwal founded Dil Mil, a matchmaking and dating app for South Asians living in the West. He sold it to Dating Group, now part of Social Discovery Group, in 2019. He stayed on to run Dil Mil and joined Dating Group's advisory board and M&A committee. In 2021 he also became the group's chief strategy officer.
Dhaliwal grew up in New York and Pennsylvania. While studying at Drexel University in Philadelphia, he worked as an equity options trader, and he later worked as a private wealth manager. Around 2013 he co-founded Eyeball, a QR code scanning app in Philadelphia. He says that company taught him an early lesson about market timing. He then moved to San Francisco to build technology companies.
