UK-only hosting for an government contract: can you support it?

All

AgriculturalHedgehog2 weeks ago

Hi

We build digital health apps, and we're evaluating Terra to bring wearable and device data (Garmin, Fitbit / Google Health, Oura, Dexcom, FreeStyle Libre and others) into our apps.

The service requires that we and our subcontractors store, access, and process the data in the UK only. That includes collecting and retrieving data from providers, not just storing it. Before we go further, can you meet this?

Can you run our data in a dedicated UK instance or UK region? Which cloud provider and region would it use? Would collecting, retrieving, normalising and sending data to us all happen in the UK? Does any of it pass through systems outside the UK? For example: webhook delivery, queues, logging, monitoring, analytics or backups. If we use your mobile SDK (for example, for Bluetooth devices), can it upload directly to the UK instance (if possible)?

Thanks, Matt Darlow

Hi Matt,

UK-only hosting for Terra, covering collection, retrieval, normalisation, and webhook delivery in a UK region, isn't a standard published offering and needs to be scoped with Terra's enterprise team directly. Public documentation covers a single global API surface (api.tryterra.co) and doesn't include UK-specific instance options, cloud/region disclosures, or a UK-only guarantee across every hop (webhooks, queues, logging, monitoring, analytics, backups).

Whether a dedicated UK instance is possible, what cloud and region it would run on, and whether provider polling, webhook fan-out, queues, logs, metrics, analytics, and backups can all be kept UK-resident (including any subprocessors) are per-deployment answers rather than published defaults, and they belong in a DPA-covered conversation.

On the mobile SDK: Terra's mobile SDKs upload to a fixed Terra endpoint, and there is no UK-specific ingress URL documented publicly. Whether a UK ingress can be provided as part of a dedicated deployment is again a scoping question for the enterprise team.

For a UK-only government contract, the right next step is to fill in the details at https://tryterra.co/enterprise/contact. Include the provider list you mentioned (Garmin, Fitbit / Google Health, Oura, Dexcom, FreeStyle Libre and others), the UK-only residency requirement covering subprocessors and mobile SDK ingress, and the government contract context so it gets routed to someone who can talk architecture and DPA terms with you.

Thank you!
