tl; dr
- Redesigned Graphs UI for better mobile use and user interaction, shifting from AI to selection-based interface.
- Implemented remote backfill for SDKs, enhancing data interaction for Apple Health and Samsung Health.
- Launched Terra Community page for user Q&As, fostering engagement and support within the health and fitness wearable community.
Graphs UI Redesign π:
π What:
π Transitioning from a chatbot to a selection-based user interface (UI) in our Graph API charts, we've dramatically improved the interaction model for users, making the graphs' UI much more accessible and user-friendly, especially on mobile devices.
π Why:
The shift was inspired by our trials with AI-generated graph interactions, which revealed that users found it challenging to specify their needs without prior knowledge of the possible queries. By simplifying the interface, we aim to reduce the learning curve and enhance user satisfaction, making data visualization & exploration a seamless and enjoyable experience.
π How:
Our dedicated UX team embarked on a journey to reimagine the dashboard's Graph section's design, focusing on a UI-first approach. They worked meticulously to craft visually intuitive layouts that facilitate easier graph customization and generation, ensuring that users can navigate and manipulate data visualizations effortlessly.
SDK Integrations Upgrade - remote backfills π
π€ What:
We've innovated our SDK integrations, enabling remote backfilling capabilities for platforms like Apple Health and Samsung Health. This allows developers to interact with device-specific data through our web API, enhancing the flexibility and utility of our platform.
π€― Why:
The upgrade addresses a crucial gap in developer experience, particularly with Apple Health's device-centric design that lacked remote data request capabilities. This feature is a game-changer for developers who need a more interactive and straightforward approach to data fetching, significantly improving the debugging process and overall developer experience.
π How:
The enhancement involved the development of sophisticated internal logic capable of managing active backfill requests. Now, whenever a device connects to our servers, the SDK automatically checks for pending requests and initiates data synchronization, streamlining the process.
Introducing the Terra Community Page π€ π
π₯ What:
The introduction of the Terra Community page marks a significant milestone in our efforts to foster a vibrant ecosystem where users can freely exchange questions and answers, akin to a specialized forum dedicated to the Terra API and related discussions. See it in action here: https://tryterra.co/community !
π Why:
Our aspiration to cultivate a strong sense of community and enhance user engagement with the Terra API ecosystem is the driving force behind this project. We believe that by providing a dedicated space for conversation and collaboration, we can better support the evolving needs and interests of our users, especially in the dynamic field of health and fitness wearables.
βοΈ How:
This initiative was brought to life with a straightforward yet effective implementation on our website, designed to facilitate easy engagement and interaction among community members. The community page is a hub for knowledge sharing, offering a user-friendly platform for discussions, insights, and troubleshooting.
Through these strategic enhancements and innovations, we aim to set new standards for usability, interaction, and community engagement in the digital health sphere, ensuring that Terra remains a frontrunner in the industry.
